PASS - Frequently Asked Questions

The PASS handbook may have the answers you are looking for. You can view it here.

Q: What if I don’t know that much quantitative information about the College?

A: You probably know more than you realize, but visit our Albright Information page to get more quantitative information on the College.  We have found that the quantitative information is an important part, but that prospective students and their families usually prefer qualitative information. Also, if they would like more quantitative information, ask them to contact the Admission Office!

Q: What if they ask a question that I can’t answer?

A: Not a problem, we are not expecting you to be an Albright expert who can answer any and all questions that come your way.  If you are at an event with an admission counselor, you can direct the question to him/her.  If you are alone at an event, you will be provided with business cards of the counselor responsible for the region and you can direct the student or family to contact the admission counselor.

Q: Is there a certain amount of events or hours that I am required to volunteer for?

A: Absolutely not!  We welcome any help that an alumnus/a or a parent is able and willing to give without any expectation of a certain commitment.

Q: Is there a volunteer opportunity that is preferred over the rest?

A: No. All of these volunteer opportunities are valuable and helpful in the recruitment process.

Q: I don’t live in Pennsylvania or New Jersey- is there any way to get involved in PASS that doesn’t involve traveling to campus?

A:  Absolutely! Many of the college fairs that we are invited to fall outside of our regions (which consist mostly of New Jersey and Pennsylvania), and we are unable to attend them.  In these cases, our PASS alumni who live outside of PA and NJ can play a valuable role in spreading Albright’s name.  If you can’t make it to a college fair, the accepted student correspondence is a great way to interact with students through email or over the phone from the comfort of your own home!

Q: What if I am unsure at this point what I might be interested in volunteering for?

A: Simply fill out either the Alumni Volunteer Form or the Parent Volunteer Form.

The coordinator will contact you and answer any questions you might have in order to help you decide what opportunity best suits you.

Q: Who should I contact in the Admission Office if I have a question?

A: Catherine Souza, admission counselor and PASS coordinator.  She can be reached at 610-921-7700 or pass@alb.edu.

Q: Who is the admission counselor responsible for the geographic area I live in?

A:  Please visit our Meet Your Admission Counselor site and choose the area you live in to find the correct counselor as well as their contact information.
