| Bishop
Johnson was elected to the episcopacy at the 1996 Northeastern
Jurisdictional Conference and was assigned to the New Jersey
Area. Among his many responsibilities, he serves on the task
force, "Hope for Children of Africa," and is responsible
for the Bishop's Initiation for Children & Poverty. He
serves on the Board of Directors of the Multi-Ethnic Center
for Ministry and is a member of the Coalition of Religious
Leaders of New Jersey and the National Interfaith Hospitality
Network.
Bishop Johnson was presented with the Trailblazer Award at
Wesley Seminary in 1997 by the Black Graduates Association.
