| Following
graduation, Hidy opened his first karate school in the United
States and established himself as one of the world's premier
martial artists as both a competitor and a performer. He was
inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame in 1979 as Instructor
of the Year and in 1980 as Man of the Year.
However, in the pursuit and expression of his art, Hidy's
