E. Order, M.D., F.A.C.R. '56, an internationally acclaimed
radiation oncologist, is the driving force behind a successful
radiation protocol that treats primary liver cancer, non-resectable
pancreatic cancer, head and neck cancer and other solid tumors
that have failed to respond to conventional therapy.
His revolutionary procedure -- which consists of injecting
a radioactive isotope, Colloidal P-32, directly into solid
tumors -- offers mainstream treatment to those afflicted with
certain cancers that ordinarily would have left no option
but to prepare for death. The P-32 procedure is an outpatient
procedure that does not produce acute side effects and maintains
the quality of a patient's life. Stanley performs this procedure
exclusively at the Center for Molecular Medicine, a state-of-the-art
radiation oncology facility.
"During my years at Albright College, it was obvious
that the College was helping to develop pre-medical students
for medical education. It was a period of quietness and contemplation.
In addition, during the final dance in my graduate year, we
built the Albright Lion, full-size, with the help of other
members of the student core, and Mary Arlene Singer and I
went to the dance. She ultimately became my wife. Albright
remains in my fondest memories." |
