What Is the Red and White Club?

The Red and White Club is an organization that is focused on excellence in Albright College athletics. To accomplish this broad and important goal, the club works with the athletics department and the office of institutional advancement to raise money, awareness, and pride for our athletes. The club sponsors events throughout the year that give its members an opportunity to gather and to support our teams.

What does the Red and White Club do?

The Red and White Club supports the intercollegiate athletic teams of Albright College by providing financial and other assistance. Sometimes, this is accomplished though the purchasing of a particular piece of equipment or the renovation of a playing area.

How does the Red and White Club accomplish its goals?

The Red and White Club raises money through several different fundraising efforts, including membership drives and the annual golf outing.

How are projects selected?

It is through the athletic department and the coaches of our teams, that the Red and White Club becomes aware of the needs of our athletes for success. Each year, the board will then identify the important priorities of athletics and work to financially support them.

How did the Red and White Club begin?

Ed Cammarota ?38 founded the Red & White Club to support excellence in intercollegiate athletics. The name was changed to Red and White Club in 2003 to promote a more broad-based membership from Albright alumni and friends.

What is the qualification for membership?

To be considered a current member of the Red and White Club, you must make a gift of $50 or more each fiscal year (June 1-May 31). Every June, the club will reset and begin at zero membership. As gifts of $50 or more are received, the membership grows.

What are the benefits of membership?

In addition to the satisfaction of supporting our student-athletes in their endeavors, the Red and White Club offers some important benefits. First, Red and White Club members receive copies of Roar! ? an insider newsletter that details the goals of our teams, the performances of our athletes and the actions of the Red and White Club. Second, members will be invited to special events throughout the year, such as luncheons, picnics, and receptions. This is an excellent opportunity to make your voice heard. Overall, the Red and White Club provides a venue for the appreciation and advancement of Albright College athletics.

Who can be a member?

Actually, anyone with a love for Albright or athletics can join our Red and White Club. Many of our members are alumni, and Albright College also has many friends in the community who are proud supporters of our teams. In addition, many of the parents of our current or past students have become members. There is also support from the Albright College faculty and staff.
