The department of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs attempts to encourage a campus environment in which all students regardless or race, gender or faith tradition can prosper academically, and socially. We assure that this is accomplished through the full use of all institutional services and resources. All people have something to contribute and learn from a diverse community.
Each of us comes to college with differing levels of knowledge and understanding about diversity among people. Some of us may have had opportunities to know people different from ourselves, while others may not. Because we may have our own pace and approach in learning about ourselves as well as others, this office was created to assist proactively in this effort. We each have something to contribute and learn from our ethnically and culturally diverse community.
Note: In Spanish, La Mesa is translated, the table. Please allow MESA to serve as the symbol of the table of unity on campus. MESA is an advocate for equality, ethic and cultural sensitivity while promoting brotherhood/sisterhood. MESA is not an attempt to separate students populations, but to enhance student relations overall.
