Baccalaureate

Baccalaureate is an inter-faith religious service that begins the commencement weekend activities for our students and their families.  In addition to readings and music offerings by members of the senior class, President McMillan will provide the Call to Worship.  Although optional, this event is attended by many students, their families and friends.  The ceremony takes less than one hour in total.

Baccalaureate takes place on Saturday afternoon of Commencement weekend at 4:00 p.m. in Merner-Pfeiffer-Klein Memorial Chapel.  Students do not wear caps and gowns at Baccalaureate.  Faculty and staff may sit with the families and friends of graduates.  Plan to arrive early as seats fill quickly.

Each graduating senior may receive up to four (4) tickets to attend Baccalaureate.  The maximum of four tickets includes one for the graduate.  We ask that all students, families and friends be in their seats no later than 3:45 p.m. and the service will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m.   Doors to Memorial Chapel will open at 2:30 p.m.

We will have a live video feed of the Baccalaureate Service in Klein Lecture Hall of the Center for the Arts.  This live streaming is available for overflow seating.  If guests arrive after the ceremony begins at 4:00 p.m., they will be directed to view the ceremony from Klein Lecture Hall.
