Library Services for the Graduate Program

READING CAMPUS Delivery Options

Please allow adequate time for Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service. While many items can be obtained in less than a week, some things take longer. The bottom line is -- start your research early and discuss any problems or special needs with the reference staff at 610-921-7211 or libraryref@alb.edu.

Delivering the Goods
The Reference staff acknowledges the receipt of all electronic and fax requests and notifies you when the item is available. Interlibrary loans of photocopied materials or books will be held for pickup behind the circulation desk of the Gingrich Library. Please bring your photo ID card with you. Some journal loans may be sent to the library in electronic format and will be offered to you electronically. You will be contacted by the ILL office with instructions telling you how to obtain these files (you will need the free Adobe Acrobat reader program loaded on your computer to view them). Special arrangements to mail items to you may be approved by the Supervisor of the Interlibrary Loan Department for those few times of the academic year when the library is on an abbreviated schedule, e.g., parts of August.

Returning the Goods
Photocopies provided to students as Interlibrary Loans become the property of the student and do not need to be returned (unless you are instructed differently). All books must be returned to the Library by the due date written on the blue slip on the book. Please leave this blue slip and any other book band with the book when you return it. Items can be returned at the Library Circulation Desk (or book drop outside the main entrance if the library is closed) or by mail. If you return books via regular USPS mail service, please insure them for the value indicated on the blue slip and mail to:

Overdue fines for interlibrary loans match those for Albright owned materials. Lost materials are charged at the price set by the loaning library.
