ILLiad @ Albright Service

Welcome to ILLiad (an acronym for InterLibrary Loan internet accessible database.)

Any Albright student, faculty member or staff member with a college ID (with a library barcode on the back side) may set up an ILLiad account and request books, articles, CDs, DVDs and other materials that the Albright College Library does not possess or have access to via electronic subscription.  Once the request is received, the Gingrich Library borrows that material from an ILL participating library.

  • WHAT CAN BE BORROWED? Requests for interlibrary loan (ILL) should be made only after you conduct a careful search of the Albright College OPAC (for books and AV materials) and the Journal Locator (for links to journal full text titles). Most journal databases let you request the loan by clicking on an ILLiad link. ILL should not be used to borrow textbooks or course materials since that is against the US ILL Code and the Pennsylvania ILL Code. We are rarely successful in obtaining dissertations, most academic audiovisual materials, or selected international publications that are not published in English.
  • HOW DO I GET IT? The time to obtain materials varies greatly. Some things come within days others can take as long as two weeks. The library makes every attempt to obtain and ship materials as quickly as possible, often electronically. We communicate all notifications of receipt or questions about your loans via email, so you need to keep your email account up to date. Materials for students in Reading that arrive in paper are kept at the Library Circulation Desk for pickup. Students who take classes at other campus locations may have the materials shipped to them.
  • HOW CAN I MAKE A REQUEST? If you have an account, you can submit a loan request or check the status of any loan request at your online account. First time users will need to register with the system before they can request loans, check loan status or view their loan history.
