Community Response During Emergencies

ALL HAZARDS – Any suspicious activity – unknown persons, stalking, harassment – IMMEDIATELY call Public Safety.

  • On-Campus Phones – call 9-1-1 to reach Public Safety.
  • Personal Cell Phones – call 610-921-7570 to reach Public Safety.

FIRE – MUST evacuate building immediately.

  • DO NOT use elevators.
  • DO NOT call Public Safety; evacuate building.

TORNADO/SEVERE WEATHER – Follow instructions from Public Safety.

  • Evacuate to designated shelters.

MEDICAL EMERGENCIES – Contact Public Safety:

  • On-Campus Phones – dial 9-1-1.
  • Personal Cell Phones – 610-921-7670.
  • Provide name, location, description of emergency, number of people injured, and I.D. (if known).  Remain on the telephone until help arrives.

BOMB THREAT – DO NOT touch suspicious items or packages.

If you receive a telephone call:

  • Ask caller where, when, how, why bomb was placed.
  • Note caller’s gender, speech, attitude, background noise and accent (if any).
  • Check caller’s I.D. on telephone.
  • Exit building and THEN call Public Safety.

IMMEDIATE THREAT – You will be notified by Public Safety to evacuate or “Shelter in Place.”

  • DO NOT confront threatening person; call 9-1-1.
  • Give specific information – building, office, room number, call-back number.
  • Give number of people at location – injured?  types of injuries?
  • Assailant(s) – number of suspects, gender/race/description, types of weapons (if any), and identity of      assailant (if known).
