Programs Being Offered at the Schumo Center

 

Tumbao Salsa Lessons - Learn How To Salsa while burning off those extra pounds. Designed for students, faculty, staff, or community members with little or no salsa dance experience.

Fitness Assessments- You will be given a variety of fitness tested aimed at measuring upper body muscular strength and endurance, resting heart rate and target heart rate, body fat/BMI, weight/measurements, and flexibility.  The results will be given in as a benchmark in establishing or advancing a fitness routine and targeting goals for future assessments. 

"Just Getting Started" Exercise Program- This is best scheduled after completing a fitness assessment or initial consultation.  You will meet one-on-one with a trainer who will demonstrate an overall body workout utilizing the Cybex machines.  The student fitness trainer will also explain usage of all of our cardiovascular machines and demonstrate stretches to be done at the completion of your workouts. 

Individualized Exercise Program- This is best for participants who have been utilizing the fitness center and are looking for an individualized exercise plan to advance their fitness routine.  Program will combine Cybex machines and free weights and be tailored to your specific fitness goals.  These appointments will be done by Alison Camlin, Director of the Schumo Center for Fitness and Well-Being and can be scheduled by emailing acamlin@alb.edu or calling 610-929-6711.
